Since the creation of Save the People International (SAPI) eight years ago, we have been committed to ensuring that all children’s rights are recognized in Belgium and internationally, particularly their rights to education, health, and protection. We promote change from the grassroots level by involving children, their families, and their communities.

In collaboration with children, we work with governments and international organizations to ensure that children’s rights are on the political agenda. We hold leaders accountable for the commitments they have made, ensuring that systems are in place to protect and care for all children.

Our work is centered on a child-rights-based approach, and our interventions focus on child protection in emergency situations and in the context of development. In Belgium and around the world, we ensure that children can survive, go to school, and be protected from harm.

Together, we work hand in hand to adapt and create new solutions for children facing crises, both today and in the future.

We strive to improve the quality and relevance of inclusive education so that every child can build their future and contribute to the development of their community and country because education builds the future.

Through its projects, SAPI-BE works with families, communities, and local partners to ensure that every disadvantaged child has access to protection, education, and training that meets their needs and situation, helping them develop their potential towards independence. We support them in preparing for the job market and improving their future prospects.

We are committed to promoting children’s rights and ensuring that they are protected from violence, exploitation, and abuse so that they can thrive in a safe environment, free from fear and violence.

We fight for a just world by working with children and young people who have been separated from their families, in crisis situations as well as in stable environments. We ensure their well-being and the effective implementation of their rights, as defined in the Convention on the Rights of the Child and other human rights instruments.

In Belgium, Save the People International is committed to raising awareness about the rights of homeless children, fighting against child poverty, and engaging in dialogue with civil society actors on North-South cooperation and advocacy activities.
