The Democratic Republic of Congo has been facing multiple humanitarian crises for several years, severely affecting children. In the Kamanyola area, in the territory of Uvira, children are exposed to physical, psychological, and sexual violence, family separation, and risks linked to forced displacement. These situations endanger their lives and future, limiting their access to education, healthcare, and a safe, protective environment.
Figures and Needs
According to recent assessments, more than 3,500 children in the area are directly affected by these crises. Among them:
- 200 children are victims of domestic and community violence.
- 800 children have been separated from their families and live in precarious conditions.
- 500 children are at risk of malnutrition and poverty-related diseases.
These alarming figures highlight the urgency of intervention.
Priority Interventions
To respond effectively to these needs, our NGO has identified three priorities:
- Protection and Reintegration: Provide psychosocial support, family reunification, and protection for vulnerable children.
- Access to Education and Healthcare: Offer school support, educational kits, and essential health services.
- Support for Families and Communities: Strengthen family resilience to prevent violence and ensure a safer, more protective environment.
Budget and Appeal
To implement these life-saving interventions, we are seeking €300,000 in donations. This amount will fund:
- Child protection programs and psychosocial follow-up
- Provision of school and hygiene kits
- Capacity building for families and communities to secure a safe environment
Every contribution counts and helps provide the children of Kamanyola with a safer, more dignified future.
Together, we can save lives and build a future where every child is protected.
